Marketing Boost – Google Tune-up Demo
$150 – Delivered in 48 Hours
Google Business Profile Tune-Up for Local Businesses
If your business shows up on Google but isn’t getting consistent calls, your Google Business Profile is often under-optimized in ways that affect local visibility.
This tune-up focuses on the parts of your profile that influence how Google understands and matches your business in local search: categories, services, supporting description, and basic trust signals like photos and activity.
Important note: A Google Business Profile is not a website. Most of the value here is improving how Google classifies your business and matches you to searches — not writing “marketing copy” that customers sit and read.
Most profiles are:
– Using the wrong categories
– Missing high-value services
– Running outdated descriptions
– Not aligned with how customers actually search
This tune-up fixes that.
Option 1: Basic Tune-Up
(Recommendations + Copy/Paste)
$150 – Delivered within 48 hours – No access needed
You answer a short questionnaire about your business and services. I then provide a clean recommended setup and copy-and-paste content you can install yourself.
What you receive by email:
– Primary and secondary category review and recommendations (with alignment to how customers search)
– Service structure guidance (including recommended services where editable, and instructions for reviewing Google’s auto-generated options)
– Business description rewrite optimized for both customer clarity and Google’s classification algorithms
– Basic alignment check of key profile fields (categories, hours, service area, etc.)
– Photo improvement checklist (what to add/remove to improve trust and clicks)
– One ready-to-use Google Business post template (ready to publish and reuse)
Note: Google may display profile elements (such as services or description) differently depending on device, category, and internal testing. Even if some items aren’t visible publicly right away, they still help Google understand and classify your business.
Best for: business owners who want to stay in control and make the changes themselves.
Option 2: Upgraded Tune-Up
Full Audit + Hands-On Update
(Temporary Editor Access)
Add $100 ($250 Total) – Delivered within 48 hours
Completely hands-off for you and more in-depth. I will review what’s currently in your profile and apply the updates inside your Google Business page with temporary editor access.
Includes everything in the Basic Tune-Up, plus:
– Full audit of existing categories/services/description in the editor
– Direct implementation of updates in your GBP
– Upload and optimization of up to 5 client-provided photos
– Optional basic logo overlay on client-provided images (if your logo file and photos are provided and ready)
– Email summary of changes made
Boundaries (so this stays fast and flat-rate):
– Photos must be client-provided; this service does not include photo shoots or multi-round photo review cycles
– Ongoing Google posting is not included (you receive a template you can reuse)
How This Demo Works
(and what to expect behind the scenes)
Below are two examples of publicly visible Google Business Profiles that, while legitimate and indexed, are not fully optimized. Identifying details have been blurred for privacy. These examples illustrate common gaps in clarity, classification, and trust signals that affect visibility and customer confidence.
The profiles shown do not necessarily display all the services the business offers. Depending on category, business type, device, and Google’s internal testing, services and descriptions may be fully visible, partially visible, or not shown publicly at all — even when they are correctly configured in the profile.
After the examples, the following sections outline the types of recommendations provided in a Google Business Profile Tune-Up. These recommendations include suggested categories and service definition guidance, a replacement business description, photo guidance, and a Google Post template. Some of these elements may be visible to customers, while others are primarily used by Google behind the scenes to better understand, classify, and present the business in local search.
In my tune-up service, the business description is written as a hybrid: clear and professional for customers who see it, and detailed enough to support Google’s automated service inference.
It’s also important to note that Google Business Profile changes may take time to review and propagate. Services, descriptions, and other fields may appear, disappear, or update gradually as Google processes changes.
Google Business Pages and all of its inner workings can be complicated.
And it’s my goal to make tuning up your profile as painless and easy as possible, so you can just focus on connecting with more customers.
The screenshots below show real, unmodified public listings. The recommendations below illustrate how we would improve similar profiles.
Examples of Under-Optimized Google Business Profiles
Example 1: Service-Area Business (Gutters)

This is an example of a publicly visible, under-optimized Google Business Profile for an established gutter company in Colorado Springs. Identifying details have been blurred for privacy.
In its current state, the listing:
– Shows no photos related to the services being offered
– Has no website listed
– Provides very little information beyond a single category
This makes it difficult for both customers and Google to clearly understand what the business offers or why it should be trusted.
While the listing exists and is indexed, it is not fully describing the business or supporting visibility for the full range of services the company provides.
Example 2: Brick-and-Mortar Business (Salon)

This is an example of a publicly visible Google Business Profile for a local salon. Identifying details have been blurred for privacy.
In this case, the profile has some basic owner-provided content, but still leaves major gaps that affect clarity, trust, and visibility:
– The storefront photo is low quality and does not clearly communicate the atmosphere or services inside
– An owner-uploaded graphic image is present, but does not represent the actual business or customer experience
– No website is listed, removing an important path for customers to learn more or book
– Business hours are missing, creating friction for walk-in or appointment-based customers
– There is no visible activity, such as Google Posts, to signal that the business is active and engaged
While the business appears legitimate and has positive reviews, the profile does little to differentiate it from nearby competitors or clearly communicate why a customer should choose this salon over others.
The listing exists, but it is not fully supporting discovery, confidence, or conversion.
Two Different Businesses — Same Underlying Issue
These are two very different types of businesses:
a service-area contractor and a brick-and-mortar storefront.
However, they share the same underlying problem:
Their Google Business Profiles exist, but they are not fully describing what the business does or supporting visibility across all relevant searches.
This is a common situation for established local businesses. The profile is “there,” but it isn’t doing much work on the business’s behalf.
What a Basic Google Tune-Up Addresses
A Google Business Profile Tune-Up focuses on improving how Google understands and classifies a business, and on strengthening the trust signals customers do see.
For the Basic Google Business Profile Tune-Up, I do not make changes directly to the listing. Instead, I gather key information from the business owner and deliver a clear set of recommendations by email, ready to copy and paste into Google.
The Basic Tune-Up includes:
Recommended primary and secondary categories
Selected conservatively from widely available Google category options to better match what the business actually offers.
Recommended profile updates
Such as adding a website, clarifying services, and completing missing or underused fields.
(Business names are not altered unless compliant with Google’s guidelines.)
Photo recommendations
A clear checklist outlining the types of images that help establish trust, such as job photos, storefront or interior shots, vehicles, equipment, or before-and-after work.
A replacement business description and service definition guidance
These are written to clearly explain the business to customers while also helping Google classify and match the business in search — even when not fully visible.
One Google Post template
A reusable post format that helps show activity, highlight services, and give customers something current to engage with.
All deliverables are provided as clear copy-and-paste instructions via email.
Upgraded Tune-Up: Full Audit & Hands-On Updates
The Upgraded Google Business Profile Tune-Up is for business owners who prefer a hands-off approach.
With temporary editor access, I apply the recommendations directly inside your Google Business Profile:
– Review existing categories, services, and profile fields
– Apply the recommended updates directly
– Upload client-provided photos (within defined scope)
– Add the initial Google Post using the provided template
Once complete, you’ll receive a short summary outlining what was changed and what to maintain going forward.
Who This Is Best For
– Local service businesses
– Contractors, painters, roofers, landscapers
– Salons, clinics, home services
If your profile exists but feels stuck, this is for you.
